Jewell Sinclair Dies in Action in Europe Dec. 21

Mrs. Kate Sinclair, of Shade, received a telegram from the War Department informing her that her son, Pfc. Jewell Sinclair, age 25, was killed in action in Belgium on Dec. 21. He entered the service on Dec. 6, 1943, and was stationed at Fort Harrison, Ind., Camp Wolters, Texas, and Camp George Meade, Md., before going overseas in May, 1944.

Pfc. Sinclair was attached to Co. D, 120th Infantry, of the First Army, and had seen action in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany.

Besides his mother, he leaves one sister, Opal, at home, and two brothers, Alba Sinclair, Burlingham, and Pvt. Noel Sinclair, believed to be in Belgium.His father and one brother died in 1931.The family formerly lived in Meigs County, near Darwin.Mrs. Sinclair operates the telephone exchange at Shade.
